Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

SixtyNineMSM is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your information.

Who we are

SixtyNineMSM is published by Octet Méditerranée (SIREN: 989258892).

For privacy questions, contact: contact@octetmediteranee.eu.

1. The developer never receives your data

Everything you enter — encounters, partners, locations, test results, settings, and the resulting risk calculations — is stored on your device. The app has no account system, no server, and no backend, and makes no network connections of its own. We do not collect, receive, transmit, sell, or share your data with anyone, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. We cannot see it.

The one way data can leave the app is if you choose to: by creating an export, or by enabling the optional Apple Health integration (see section 4). Both are under your control and described below.

2. No tracking or analytics

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. There is no advertising-identifier collection and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because the app does not track you across other apps or websites.

3. How your data is stored

The app's own data is held in an on-device database protected with iOS file protection (encrypted at rest while the device is locked). This database is explicitly excluded from iCloud and device backups, so the app's copy of your data never leaves the device through that route. The one exception is data you write into Apple Health using the optional integration described in section 4, which is then governed by Apple, not by this database.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit)

The app includes an optional Apple Health integration. It is turned off by default and only does anything if you explicitly enable it and grant permission. When enabled, the app can:

  • Read your PrEP medication dose history to estimate its protective effect.
  • Write a "Sexual Activity" sample to Apple Health for each encounter you log (recording only the time and whether protection was used).

The app itself does not transmit this data anywhere — it hands it to Apple Health on your device. However, you should understand what happens next: data stored in Apple Health is managed by Apple, not by this app, and may sync across your devices through iCloud (Apple's Health sync, which is end-to-end encrypted) depending on your iOS and iCloud settings. That means enabling this feature can cause your encounter records to leave this device via Apple's infrastructure, outside the app's control.

If you would prefer your encounter data to remain only inside SixtyNineMSM, leave the Apple Health integration switched off — nothing is then written to Apple Health. You can also change Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Location

If you choose to save a location for an encounter, the app uses your device location (only while you are using the app) to centre the map so you can pick a spot. Location is used solely for that purpose and is stored on-device with the rest of your data. You can decline location access and still use the app.

6. Face ID / biometrics

Face ID (or Touch ID) is used only to unlock an export password you have saved in the device Keychain before creating a password-protected export. Biometric data never leaves the Secure Enclave and is never seen by the app.

7. Data you export

You can create an encrypted, password-protected export of your data. Once you share or move an exported file off the device, it is outside the app's control and your responsibility to store securely.

8. External links

The "Sources & Methodology" screen links to public health and research websites. Opening a link hands off to your browser; those sites have their own privacy practices.

9. Children

This app is intended for adults (17+) and is not directed at children.

10. Your control

Because all data is local, you are in full control: you can delete individual records, revoke Health or Location permissions in iOS Settings at any time, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device.

11. Disclaimer

SixtyNineMSM provides statistical estimates for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and cannot detect, confirm, or rule out any infection. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional and get tested.
